This series of woodcuts showcases plants common to the south, represented by their silhouette. Each piece is hand printed onto Canson Edition 250G antique white 100% cotton archival paper in editions of 10-30. Due to the nature of hand printing, each piece has slight variations. It is these subtleties of the print that I enjoy most about printmaking with wood. I enjoy every part of this process, from learning about and taking photographs of the plants, to finding the right composition, carving the wood, and then what is probably the most satisfying of any of the steps - printing.
